Cindy Muehleman, Director of Recreational Services

Hi, I’m Cindy Muehleman, Director of Recreational Services. I am in charge of activities, transportation and social services at Monte Vista Village (RCFE) and Monte Vista Lodge (SNF).

I was born in Oregon and have also lived in Idaho, Arizona, California, Nevada, Hawaii and Japan. In my off hours, I am kept very busy with my husband Tom, and two small boys (Josh, seven, and Matt, nine). Together we camp, fish, hike and visit historic parks and monuments. Everywhere we go I find an opportunity to educate them. I want my boys to enjoy learning as much as I do.

In 1994, I earned a BS in Recreation Administration from San Diego State University. From that time, I have been programming activities in retirement communities. Since I came to Monte Vista in 2000, I have earned both a Residential Care for the Elderly (RCFE) Administrator’s license and a Nursing Home Administrator’s (NHA) license.

I have the best job in the world! I facilitate our residents developing new interests and hobbies as well as provide opportunities for them to maintain old hobbies and social diversions. Every day when I go home from work, I know that I have helped at least one person have a better life. How many people can say that?
